20L water refill and new bottle prices explained

Offices and homes use a 20L bottle because one jug on a dispenser replaces a pile of small bottles. The cost only stays low if the refill price and the bottle price are separate. Earth Packaged Drinking Water publishes both. The refill is UGX 7,000. The new bottle is UGX 25,000 and you keep the bottle. Older pages and directory listings have shown other numbers. Use UGX 7,000 for the refill.

The exchange is empty-for-full. You keep the bottle after the first purchase. On the next delivery you hand over an empty, usable jug and take a full one. You pay UGX 7,000 for the water, not another UGX 25,000 for the plastic. If the jug is cracked, badly stained, or missing, the replacement is a new bottle at UGX 25,000. A spare jug on site is useful so staff are not left without water while the empty one is out for refill.

The bottle is the 20L / 18.9L class used on ordinary dispensers. If you do not have a dispenser, Earth sells or leases one in Kampala. The dispenser price is quoted for the model and whether you want to buy or lease. The water price does not change: the refill remains UGX 7,000. A bottle organizer is also quoted separately if you need to store full and empty jugs upright beside the dispenser.

The water in the jug is the same process as the small bottles. At the Kansanga plant it goes through pre-filtration, reverse osmosis, UV, and ozonation, then filling and batch coding. It is packaged drinking water. It is not mineral water. Do not describe it as mineral water on a tender form or a shelf talker.

Before a batch is released, the Kansanga production laboratory checks appearance, odour and taste, pH, total dissolved solids, turbidity, total coliforms, and E. coli. Those are the routine release checks. A written report for a batch code is available to a buyer who asks. UNBS permit 09214-0016-0113 is valid from 19 August 2026 to 19 August 2027. Delivery of 20L refills covers Kampala core routes, including Kansanga, and Wakiso, Mukono, and Entebbe on request. Hours are Monday to Saturday, 8:00 to 18:00. Say the number of refills, the number of new bottles, the area, and whether you need them the same day. Same-day delivery is possible on active Kampala routes when stock and the route allow. The delivery fee is quoted with the order. It is not a hidden add-on after the truck arrives.

A worked example for a new office: four new bottles at UGX 25,000 is UGX 100,000. That office then holds four jugs. The next order of four refills is 4 × UGX 7,000, plus the delivery fee for that area. A second example: a home that already has one Earth bottle orders one refill at UGX 7,000. If that home’s bottle was lost, the order is one new bottle at UGX 25,000, not a refill.

Once a jug is open on a dispenser, follow ordinary hygiene: clean hands, a clean dispenser, and a refill cycle that does not leave water standing for weeks.
